‘The Panchabootha-verukal thedi…’ a camp, which is a part of the five-day community living camp prescribed in the B. Ed curriculum of MG University, commenced on March 6, 2023, held at Adi Shankara Training College, Kalady. In preparation for the camp, an online class titled "How to Organize a Camp" was conducted on February 23, 2023, by Asst. Prof. Jayakrishnan of National College of Teacher Education in Vengola.

Before the start of the camp, a group discussion was held to select the camp leader, finance coordinator, food coordinator, entertainment coordinator, camp news coordinator, and DE coordinator, all of whom would work under the leadership of the camp coordinator, Mr. Rajesh MP. The students were then divided into groups, and group leaders were appointed.

After much deliberation, it was decided that the camp would be conducted from the 6th to the 10th of March. To ensure smooth functioning of the camp, five duty committees, namely the Food Committee, Program Committee, Cultural Program Committee, Cleaning Committee, and Discipline Committee, were formed for each of the five days, and specific duties were assigned to each group.

On March 4, 2023, the Vice Principal of Adi Shankara Training College, Mrs. Praseetha V., named the five-day camp "Panchabhuta- In Search of Roots." Each of the five days was dedicated to one of the five elements, Bhumi, Jala, Vayu, Akasha, and Agni. Later, official letters were sent to various departments informing them that a five-day camp would be held in the college.

Prior to the start of the five-day camp, the students prepared the camp schedule under the guidance of the teachers, with a total of 11 informative sessions being organized over the course of the five days.

On the 5th day, I was part of the food committee, which kept me quite busy. I was initially nervous about my duties, but with the assistance of the chef and my team members, I was able to manage the situation smoothly. My team also assisted with cooking and vegetable cutting tasks.

1.6. Overall Reflection

Community living camps can be a valuable experience for individuals to develop social skills, build friendships, and learn to work together towards common goals. Living in close proximity to others for an extended period can create a sense of camaraderie and foster a strong sense of community. It can also provide opportunities to learn about different cultures, lifestyles, and perspectives.

During the camp, participants may engage in various activities such as team-building exercises, outdoor adventures, and community service projects. These experiences can help individuals develop their leadership skills, enhance their problem-solving abilities, and build self-confidence.

Living in a community can also provide a unique opportunity to disconnect from technology and the distractions of daily life. This can help individuals focus on building relationships, being present in the moment, and developing a deeper sense of self-awareness.

Our camp, that had all the qualities as mentioned above that one would expect from a co-habitation camp. What a beautiful five days when 98 students from diverse mindsets and backgrounds came together under one umbrella. Days that can be cherished in the memories that bring so much joy to all...

Through this five-day community living camp, we learned to do things with maturity and precision, to keep everyone together, and to understand each other. As well as an awareness of what is happening around and the ability to cope and react to it earned through this camp.

Overall, this community living camp was a transformative experience for me, providing me with the skills, knowledge, and personal growth needed to thrive in today's complex and interconnected world.

1.4.1. Planning

Planning a successful study tour requires careful consideration of the learning objectives, tour committee, destination, budget, tour package agency, itinerary, and communication with participants. By following these steps, we can ensure that the study tour is well-planned and provides a valuable learning experience for all participants.

In order to ensure this, we first formed a planning committee headed by Asst. Prof. Karpagam on 19th October 2022. This committee gathered online in WhatsApp group and conducted a meeting to think about tour and we had opted many places and discussed with our classmates. Then decision about the budget was also an important factor which was limited to 5000-5500 range. The committee opted many places and discussed the same with various agencies to get budget friendly tour packages of 5500 range.

Tour planning committee consists of Sivaprasad, Adhnan, Abhishek, Sneha s sunil, Fency, Akhil, Steema, Neethu j nair, Chanchal, Subin, Preethi, Megha, Navya Castro, Aparna.

1.4.2. Discussion of Tour Programme

The tour committee held a series of discussions to plan the study tour, which involved identifying the purpose and objectives of the tour, selecting a destination and itinerary, determining the budget, and inviting eligible agencies of tour packages. The committee also discussed logistics, finalizing the itinerary, and developing a risk management plan to ensure the safety and well-being of the participants during the tour. Communication with the participants was emphasized throughout the planning process, and the committee discussed ways to keep the participants informed of any updates or changes to the tour.

First Round Discussion

The first discussion was taken place on February 10, 2023 and it was a discussion with Wilderness Tourism of Aluva. They approached the college to discuss the tour package with tour committee. They described the tour packages, the place which they suggested were attractive but the budget which they suggested were not reasonable.

Second Round Discussion

The second-round discussion was held on February 27, 2023 with Kunjulus Moonjely Tours, the tour package was attractive which included various Adventures activities, the budget also was affordable of Rs 5400/-, but food was the problem, because they offered live food with same menu. Hence the committee withdrew the package
