1.0. Introduction
A resume is a document
that provides a summary of an individual's education, work experience, skills,
achievements, and other relevant information. It is typically used when
applying for a job or seeking admission to educational programs.
The purpose of a resume
is to showcase an individual's qualifications and suitability for a particular
position or opportunity. Employers or recruiters use resumes to evaluate
candidates and determine whether they possess the necessary skills, knowledge,
and experience required for the role.
A well-structured resume
generally includes the following sections:
1. Contact Information: This section
includes full name, phone number, email address, and optionally, mailing address.
2. Objective or Summary Statement: This
section provides a brief overview of career goals, professional
background, and the value can bring to the position.
3. Education: Educational qualifications, including degrees, diplomas, certifications, and
relevant coursework. Start with the most recent education and work your way
back.
4. Work Experience: This section includes professional experience, starting with the most recent position. Include the
job title, name of the company, dates of employment, and a description of responsibilities and accomplishments. Use bullet points to highlight achievements.
5. Skills: This section highlights the
specific skills possess that are relevant to the job. Include both hard
skills (technical abilities) and soft skills (interpersonal and communication
skills).
6. Achievements: In this section, we can
list any notable achievements, awards, or recognition we have received
throughout our education or career.
7. Additional Sections: Depending on our
circumstances, we may include additional sections such as certifications,
professional affiliations, publications, volunteer work, or relevant projects.

When creating a resume, it is important to tailor it to the specific job or industry applying to. Use clear and concise language, avoid jargon, and organize the information in a logical and easy-to-read format. Proofread the resume carefully to eliminate any spelling or grammatical errors.
1.1. Difference between Resume and
Curriculum Vitae
The
main differences between a resume and a CV lie in their length, purpose, and
usage. Resumes are shorter and more focused, typically limited to one or two
pages, tailored for job applications, and highlight relevant skills and
experiences.
In contrast, CVs are longer and more comprehensive, providing a detailed overview of an individual's entire academic and professional history, commonly used in academia and research fields. Resumes are widely used in the private sector, while CVs are more prevalent in academia and scientific positions.
1.2. How to prepare and present a resume
To
prepare and present a resume effectively, follow these steps. First, thoroughly
understand the job requirements and tailor resume accordingly. Choose an
appropriate format and include contact information at the top. Craft a strong
summary or objective statement that highlights qualifications. Include education,
work experience, and relevant skills, using bullet points to make it easy to
read. Highlight notable achievements and awards. Keep the resume concise,
proofread it for errors, and customize it for each application. Save and send
the resume in the requested format.
When presenting resume, ensure it is well-organized, visually appealing, and showcases qualifications clearly. Remember, a well-tailored and polished resume greatly enhances chances of standing out to potential employers.

Compeering,
also known as emceeing or hosting, refers to the role of serving as a master of
ceremonies or host for an event or program. The compere, or emcee, is
responsible for managing the flow of the event, engaging the audience,
introducing speakers or performers, and maintaining a lively and engaging
atmosphere.
Compeering involves
various skills, including public speaking, stage presence, improvisation, and
the ability to connect with the audience. The compere sets the tone of the
event, keeps the audience informed, and ensures smooth transitions between
different segments or performances. They may also entertain the audience with
jokes, anecdotes, or interactive activities.
A good compere is able to captivate the audience, maintain their interest throughout the event, and create a positive and engaging atmosphere. They need to be confident, charismatic, and skilled at adapting to different situations and audience dynamics. Compeering is often seen at a wide range of events, such as conferences, weddings, award ceremonies, concerts, and television shows, among others.

potential challenges that may arise during the event.
4. Interpersonal Skills: A good compere friendly,
approachable, and can establish a connection with the audience and event
participants. They can create a welcoming environment and interact with guests
or speakers in a professional and courteous manner.
6. Organizational and Time Management
Abilities: Being organized and having effective time management skills are
important for a compere.
7. Wit and Humor: A compere often
incorporates humor into their hosting to entertain and engage the audience.
They should possess a good sense of timing, deliver appropriate jokes or
anecdotes, and maintain a light-hearted and enjoyable atmosphere.
8. Professionalism and Poise: A reliable
compere demonstrates professionalism and poise throughout the event. They are
punctual, well-prepared, and maintain a positive and composed demeanour.

Tonight, we are not only commemorating our Annual Day, but we are also celebrating a significant milestone in our school's history - our 80th Anniversary!
My name is Subin John

Staff Secretary. She will provide us with an overview of the remarkable
achievements and milestones we have accomplished as a school community. Let's
give her a big round of applause for her hard work.
Moving on, it is an
absolute honor to have with us today Fr. Vincent Kulangara, our esteemed
Manager. I now request Fr. Vincent Kulangara to come forward and deliver his
presidential address. We eagerly look forward to his wise and motivating words
that will inspire us all.

It is now time for a

esteemed Panchayath President, for her remarkable contributions to education
and community development. Let's give her a well-deserved round of applause as
she comes forward to receive our heartfelt appreciation.
Now, it's the moment
we've all been waiting for – the prize distribution ceremony! We will
acknowledge and honor the hard work and dedication of our state, district, and
school winners in various academic, sports, and cultural categories. Let's give
a big round of applause to all the winners and congratulate them on their
well-deserved achievements.
After such a wonderful
celebration of achievements, it's time to lighten the mood and enjoy the
fantastic stage programs prepared by our talented students. From captivating
dances to melodious musical performances, get ready to be amazed and
entertained by their incredible talents.
Finally, as we near the

to everyone who has made this event possible. On behalf of the entire school
community, I invite Master Subin P J, our school's Head Boy, to deliver the
vote of thanks. Let's give him a round of applause for expressing our
gratitude.
Once again, thank you all for being a part of this special Annual Day program. Good Night and sweet dreams…
2.4. Reflection
Creating
a compere script as part of my B.Ed. curriculum has been a transformative
experience. It has allowed me to apply theoretical knowledge to a practical
context and deepen my understanding of event management and public speaking.
Crafting the script challenged me to think creatively, be detail-oriented, and
effectively engage the audience. It has strengthened my organizational skills
and boosted my confidence in delivering engaging presentations. This experience
has given me a greater appreciation for the role of a compere in creating a
successful and memorable event, and it has reinforced my passion for education
and creating positive learning environments.
Being a part of this
process has not only enhanced my skills as a future educator but also instilled
in me a sense of personal growth and accomplishment. I am grateful for the
opportunity to learn and develop as a compere, and I am excited to apply these
skills in my future teaching career. This experience has solidified my belief
in the power of effective communication and has equipped me with valuable tools
to engage and inspire students in the classroom.
