1.0. Introduction

A study tour, also known as a field trip or an educational tour, is a program organized by colleges and universities that involves traveling to various locations for the purpose of learning and gaining new experiences. The destinations can range from local areas to other cities or even different countries, depending on the focus of the study tour. The tour may last from a few days to several weeks, and it usually involves a group of students and professors.

During the study tour, students have the opportunity to visit cultural and historical landmarks, attend lectures and seminars by experts in various fields, participate in workshops, and engage in interactive activities related to their area of study. This type of learning experience goes beyond the traditional classroom setting and allows students to gain practical knowledge and skills that they might not be able to acquire in the classroom alone.

The organization of a study tour requires careful planning and coordination to ensure that the students have a safe and educational experience. The program usually includes transportation, accommodations, meals, and other logistical arrangements. Students may also be required to complete assignments or projects related to their study tour, which can further enhance their learning experience.

1.1. Objectives of Study Tour

1.4. Report of the Study Tour

1.4.1. Planning

            Planning a successful study tour requires careful consideration of the learning objectives, tour committee, destination, budget, tour package agency, itinerary, and communication with participants. By following these steps, we can ensure that the study tour is well-planned and provides a valuable learning experience for all participants.

            In order to ensure this, we first formed a planning committee headed by Asst. Prof. Karpagam on 19^th October 2022. This committee gathered online in WhatsApp group and conducted a meeting to think about tour and we had opted many places and discussed with our classmates. Then decision about the budget was also an important factor which was limited to 5000-5500 range. The committee opted many places and discussed the same with various agencies to get budget friendly tour packages of 5500 range.

The above committee planned the tour and coordinates all the activities. Students were asked to find out a name for the study tour. Many are suggesting, in it we selected the name chothichu chothichu pokam…

The expected outcome includes providing situations for the student teachers to learn and get acquainted with the process of organizing or conducting a study tour or field work and understanding the precautions and works behind in it.

1.4.2. Discussion of Tour Programme

The tour committee held a series of discussions to plan the study tour, which involved identifying the purpose and objectives of the tour, selecting a destination and itinerary, determining the budget, and inviting eligible agencies of tour packages. The committee also discussed logistics, finalizing the itinerary, and developing a risk management plan to ensure the safety and well-being of the participants during the tour. Communication with the participants was emphasized throughout the planning process, and the committee discussed ways to keep the participants informed of any updates or changes to the tour.

First Round Discussion

The first discussion was taken place on February 10, 2023 and it was a discussion with Wilderness Tourism of Aluva. They approached the college to discuss the tour package with tour committee. They described the tour packages, the place which they suggested were attractive but the budget which they suggested were not reasonable.

Second Round Discussion

The second-round discussion was held on February 27, 2023 with Kunjulus Moonjely Tours, the tour package was attractive which included various Adventures activities, the budget also was affordable of Rs 5400/-, but food was the problem, because they offered live food with same menu. Hence the committee withdrew the package

Third Round Discussion

The third-round discussion was held on February 28, 2023 with Candle light Kuruppampady, their package was attractive, hence this was chosen to present before the students for finalizing the packaging. By considering the positive and negative, the discussion was extended for finalization

Final Discussion and Confirmation

Finally, a discussion was held with the students to finalize the package. By considering all the opinion, advices and suggestions, the coordinators of the tour decided to go forward with the package forwarded by Candle light Tours. Later the tour coordinators and officials of package met the principal of the college to conform the tour package. Principle analyzed the package and permitted to go forward with the same.

A team of 74 students and three teachers of Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady were permitted to go for study tour from 15th march 2023 to 19th March 2023. The destination selected were Malpe- St. Marys Island, Chikmangalore and Belur.

            The tour was scheduled with two air buses of 49 seat and 34 seats. There are 74 students and 3 staff costing of Rs 4,01,250 which included food, stay, entry fees and water activity fees. Per head rate is 5400/-.

1.4.4. Execution of Tour Programme

            After nearly a week of preparation, planning and discussion for the study tour, finally decided to execute the same. The obstacle we had to overcome was the extreme hot. But we were persistent and diligent with our effort to reach the places we wanted to visit.

We promised the travel agency to work with them and corporate with them throughout the travel. This is the final step of execution of the plan and undertaking the tour and making it success. If any uncertain event happens, it is necessary to contact with officials to inform them at the earliest. All the students were ready and interested to go for the study tour as per the package.

1.4.5. Tour Places

1. Malpe Beach

It is a popular tourist destination located in Udupi, Karnataka, India. The beach is known for its natural beauty, scenic views, and tranquil atmosphere. It is situated around six kilometers from Udupi town and is easily accessible by road.

Malpe Beach is a long stretch of golden sand that offers visitors a perfect place to relax and enjoy the natural beauty of the coast. The beach is surrounded by palm trees, coconut groves, and mangrove forests that add to its scenic charm. The clear blue waters of the Arabian Sea make it a great place for swimming, surfing, and other water activities.

St. Mary's Island is a popular tourist destination located off the coast of Malpe Beach. The island is known for its unique rock formations, crystal-clear waters, and beautiful coral reefs, making it a popular spot for snorkeling, diving, and other water activities.

To reach St. Mary's Island, visitors need to take a ferry from Malpe Beach, which takes around 20 minutes. The ferry ride is a scenic journey, and visitors can enjoy the beautiful views of the coastline and the Arabian Sea.

2. Chikmangalore

            Chikmagalur is a beautiful hill station located in the Western Ghats of Karnataka, India. It is known for its scenic beauty, coffee plantations, and historical landmarks. The region is surrounded by lush green forests, hills, and valleys, making it an ideal destination for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts.

One of the main attractions of Chikmagalur is the Mullayanagiri peak, which is the highest peak in Karnataka. Visitors can trek to the top of the peak and enjoy the breathtaking views of the surrounding hills and valleys. Chikmagalur is also known for its historical landmarks, including the ancient temples of Belavadi and Halebeedu, which are known for their intricate carvings and architecture.

3. Belur

            Belur is a historical town located in the Hassan district of Karnataka, India. It is known for its ancient temples and rich cultural heritage. The Chennakesava temple in Belur is an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Vishnu and was built in the 12th century by the Hoysala Empire. It is known for its exquisite architecture and intricate carvings, which are a fine example of Hoysala architecture.

            Yagachi Water Sports Centre is a popular destination for adventure enthusiasts and water sports lovers, located near the town of Belur, the center is situated on the banks of the Yagachi River, which provides a picturesque backdrop for a variety of water sports and activities, including kayaking, speed boat ride, rafting and banana ride.

1.4.6. Day activities

Day 1 (15/03/23-Wednesday)

            On 15^th March, the day of the tour, everyone arrived at the college on time for departure at 3 pm. The students, along with the teachers, had packed their bags and were excited to embark on the tour. The atmosphere was filled with anticipation and excitement as everyone waited for the buses to arrive.

As soon as the buses arrived, everyone quickly boarded and settled into their seats of allotted bus. The tour guide introduced himself and gave a brief overview of the itinerary for the tour. He also provided some useful tips and guidelines for the tour, including safety precautions and responsible travel practices.

Once everyone was settled, the bus started on the journey at 3 pm. Along the way, the bus made stops for refreshments and rest breaks. The tour guide also provided recommendations for local eateries and souvenir shops, encouraging everyone to support local businesses and industries. In the bus, every one enjoyed with music and lights and early night each one began to sleep. 

Day 2 (16/03/23-Thursday)

We arrived our hotel at Malpe around 6:00 am in the morning. We proceeded to freshen up and had breakfast around 8:00 am. After breakfast we proceeded to Malpe Beach. It was only a five minutes’ walk from the hotel. From Malpe we took a boat and sailed to St. Mary’s Island. We spent two hours in St. Mary’s Island. We returned to Malpe Beach and spend the rest of our afternoon there. There were a few water activities including parasailing. We then returned to the hotel to have lunch at around 2 pm and after lunch we began our journey to our next destination, Chikmangaluru. 

Day 3 (17/03/23-Friday)

            We began our day at 7:15 am by 7:30 am we left the hotel, had breakfast at a restaurant and proceeded for our next adventure. Our first destination was Mullyanagiri. We had to travel in jeeps as that was the only mode of transportation to reach the place. We started at 8:30 am and on the way we made a stop at a resort were a few students participated in the zip lining activity, we spend some quality time there and resumed our journey. We made another stop to admire the Honamanna falls.

A small yet beautiful body of water and we learnt about its historical significance as well. Later we continued our journey and arrived at our destination around 11:00 am. We spent the rest of the hours trekking. At around 1:30 pm we started our journey back, had lunch and travelled to our next destination Baba Budhan Hills. We reached there at 2:45 pm and resumed trekking. By 4:00 pm we finished trekking and started our journey back to the hotel. We reached the hotel by around 5:00 pm and then after much needed rest went out for a shopping spree around the area. By 7: 30 we gathered at the lobby of the hotel, boarded the bus and proceeded to the restaurant cum resort. There was a DJ and Camp fire arranged as well. After the celebrations we had dinner and returned to our hotel around 11:00 pm. By 11:30 pm everyone called it a day.

The last day of the trip, we began our day at around 7:15 am we vacated our respective rooms and boarded the bus. We stopped for breakfast and proceeded to the highlight of the day, a visit to the fabulous and famous Shri Chenakesava Temple. We arrived at the temple around 10:20 am. It was indeed a magnificent and serene sight to see and experience. Not only were we able to learn a lot about history and architecture but also the peaceful vibes from the temple helped calmed our tired and restless minds. It was indeed a splendid sight for the sore eyes. After spending some memorable moments there, we proceeded towards Yagachi Water Adventure Sports Centre, Beloor for water activities. They provided a wide variety of activities like bumper ride, kayaking, speed boating, banana ride etc.

After all the fun filled water activities, we had lunch and then we began our journey back home. We reached back at the college on 19/03/2023, Sunday at around 5:30 am in the morning. After alighting the bus, we collected our luggage and returned home.

 

1.5. Evaluation of Tour

            As part of our college curriculum, a group of 74 students of B.Ed with three teachers went on a study tour to Karnataka from March 15 to March 19. The objectives of the study tour were achieved to a great extent. The tour provided us with a comprehensive understanding of the culture, including its infrastructure, policies, and best practices along with the beauty of the different places. It was a memorable experience for me.

Itinerary:

The itinerary of the tour was well-planned and comprehensive. We visited several major tourist attractions, including the Malpe beech, St. Mary’s Island, Chikmangalur, and Belur. We also had the opportunity to see the historical places and cultures and learn about the experiences and challenges.

Learning Outcomes:

The study tour provided us with several valuable learning outcomes. Firstly, we gained practical knowledge about the tourism industry in Karnataka, including its infrastructure, policies, and best practices. Secondly, we had the opportunity to experience the culture and diversity of Karnataka. We learned about the city's rich history and architecture, as well as its unique blend of cultures. Finally, the tour provided us with an opportunity to develop our personal and social skills. We worked collaboratively in a group setting, developed communication skills, and navigated unfamiliar environments.

Areas for Improvement:

There were a few areas in which the study tour could be improved. Firstly, the tour could have included visits to more diverse tourist attractions, such as cultural and heritage sites. Additionally, more time could have been allocated for independent exploration and reflection.

In short, the study tour was a valuable experience that provided me with a unique opportunity to learn about the places and experience the beauty, culture and diversity of Karnataka. I believe that this experience has broadened my horizons and prepared me for success in future careers. 

1.6. Overall Reflection

            The study tour was a valuable experience that provided us with a unique opportunity to learn about the beautiful places and experience the historicity of culture and diversity of Karnataka. It was a life-changing experience that allowed us to broaden our horizons and challenge our perspectives.

            Being teacher trainees who are expected to apply this practical knowledge to our future teaching career. We were quite careful and responsible during each stage of the tour. We had a committee with varied responsibilities for the smooth progression of the tour. This trip made to strengthen the bond between us, it was also educative and engaging in all aspects

Overall, the study tour was an unforgettable experience that has left a lasting impact on us. We are grateful to our college administration and professors for organizing and leading this insightful and enjoyable tour. We believe that this experience has prepared us for success in our future careers and we look forward to future opportunities for study tours that will enhance our knowledge and skills.

·         3. Plan the itinerary carefully: The itinerary should be carefully planned to ensure that all learning objectives are met. It should include a mix of educational and cultural activities, with enough time for reflection and independent exploration.

·         4. Ensure safety and security: Safety and security should be a top priority when planning a study tour. This includes selecting safe and secure destinations, ensuring proper accommodation, transportation, and medical facilities, and providing emergency support and resources.

            Study tour bring education outside the confines of a classroom. It is a unique travel experience that combines learning with travelling, allowing one to have a learning experience. They are the great ways to improve confidence and language abilities.

College arts festivals are annual events that are organized by colleges and universities to showcase the artistic talents of their students. These festivals typically feature a variety of art forms such as music, dance, theatre, visual arts, and literature.

College arts festivals are an important part of college life, as they provide an opportunity for students to express their creativity and showcase their talent to a wider audience. These festivals also create a sense of community among students, as they work together to organize and participate in the event.

One of the benefits of college arts festivals is that they encourage interdisciplinary collaboration. Students from different departments and disciplines can come together to create performances or exhibitions that combine different art forms. This collaboration not only creates unique and exciting performances but also helps students develop a broader perspective on the arts.

College arts festivals also provide a platform for students to gain real-world experience in their chosen field. For example, music students can perform in front of a live audience, theatre students can act in a play or direct a performance, and visual arts students can display their artwork in an exhibition. This experience helps students develop their skills and prepares them for future careers in the arts.

Report of the Arts Fest

As a part of B.Ed curriculum, the Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady conducted arts festival for all the batches of students. The arts festival was named Bharatha 2K23-Bhavam, Ragam, Thalam. We had planned to conduct the off-stage events from Feb 06 to March 28, 2023.

The inaugural function for the fest was planned to conduct at 28 March 2023. The on-stage events were planned for 27/03 to 29/03/2023. The evaluation criteria as well as the schedule for the events were distributed among the students before few days of the fest.

Bharatha was a forum for all our students to showcase their best talents or give it chance to showcase their ability in a competent way. They can explore and express great themes and ideas through their performance. This allow them to develop their self-confidence and self-awareness.

The initial works of the fest started with dividing students into four groups namely Sapphire, Ruby, Topaz and Emerald in order to ensure full participation with competitive spirit. Each group had a male and female leader, they represented their groups. The art fest was coordinated by Asst. Prof. Krishnapriya PP and Asst. Prof. Deepthy Devassy, along with college union.

The art fest was inaugurated by Adharsh Sukumaran (script writer, actor and Mimicry artist). The inaugural function was held on 28 March 2023 at 3:30 p.m. in the college auditorium. The function started with a prayer. Ashly Thankachan, the arts club secretary, welcomed all. The college Union chairperson Amrita Maria presided over the meeting. Vice Principal Praseetha V. gave the guest a memento as a token of appreciation and gave felicitation. College union general secretary Muhamad Adhanan thanks to the function. Just after the function, there was a spectacular performance by the beloved guest, he imitated the favourite actors’ voices and sang folk songs, which was delightful experience to all.

The art fest came to an end at 4:30 p.m. with certificate distribution. The festival was a great success with active participation, competitive spirit and organisation. Calling judges from outside to decide the verdict added to the spirit and quality of events. All the students were adhered to the instructions and, processes went smoothly without much time laps.

            Myself participated in Essay writing and elocution as individual items and sang naadan pattu as group event.

Reflection

            A reflection on a college arts festival might include personal observations and reactions to the festival, as well as an analysis of the festival's overall success and impact. I included in the Emerald group which was a powerful group, with team spirit won many first prizes, hence my group became the overall group.

I reflect on the diversity of the art forms presented, the quality of the performances or exhibits, and the level of engagement from the audience were good. It also created a sense of community and collaboration among students, faculty, and staff.

If I consider the impact of the festival on the college community as a whole, including its role in promoting the arts and encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration which was good even though there are some limitations. And also reflect on the festival's impact on my own personal and artistic development, and how it may have inspired me to pursue further involvement in the arts which was sure helping in future and gave me good memories. I feel very happy to get prizes in elocution and nadan pattu. From this fest, I can understand the rules and regulations of different events, how it conducts, what are the precautions to be taken etc.

I might also reflect on any challenges or limitations I observed during the festival, such as technical difficulties, low attendance at certain events, or insufficient resources for certain performances and the quality of events. I might consider how these challenges could be addressed in future years. As a future teacher, I will adopt strategies that I learned from the college festival's positives and try to avoid the mistakes and challenges I observed. I can gain valuable insights into how to improve future events, ensuring their overall success and impact.

Conclusion

In conclusion, college arts festivals are important events that provide students with a platform to showcase their artistic talents, collaborate with other students, and gain real-world experience. These festivals not only enrich the college experience but also help students develop their skills and prepare them for future careers in the arts.

1.1. Introduction

It involves playing to the best of one's abilities, without resorting to cheating, aggression, or other unethical behaviors.

To participate credibly in sports and games, one should:

Know and abide by the rules: Understanding the rules of the game is essential to participate in a credible manner. It is important to learn the rules, follow them, and respect the decisions made by the officials.

Play fair: Playing fair means refraining from cheating or using any unfair means to gain an advantage over the opponent. This includes avoiding actions such as intentionally fouling, diving, or pretending to be injured.

Respect the opponent: Treating the opponent with respect is an important aspect of credible participation. It is essential to avoid verbal or physical abuse and maintain a positive attitude towards the opponent, even when things do not go as planned.

Display good sportsmanship: Good sportsmanship involves showing respect towards the opponent, officials, and the game itself. It includes displaying grace in both victory and defeat, accepting the outcome with humility and dignity.

Maintain physical fitness: Maintaining physical fitness is essential to participate credibly in sports and games. It involves keeping the body in good shape through regular exercise and proper nutrition.

Games and sports play an important role in the physical, mental, and social development of individuals. Here are some of the key reasons why games and sports are important:

1.Physical health: Regular participation in games and sports can help maintain physical fitness, improve stamina, and reduce the risk of developing health conditions such as obesity, heart disease, and diabetes.

2. Mental health: Games and sports can have a positive impact on mental health by reducing stress, anxiety, and depression. They also promote the release of endorphins, which are natural mood-boosting chemicals in the brain.

3. Social development: Participating in games and sports provides opportunities for socialization and the development of social skills such as teamwork, communication, and leadership. It also promotes inclusivity, respect, and fair play.

4. Skill development: Games and sports require the development of a range of skills, including physical skills such as coordination and balance, as well as cognitive skills such as strategy, decision-making, and problem-solving.

1.2. Report on Games and Sports Meet

            As a part of curriculum Adi Sankara Training College, Kalady organised sports meet for B.Ed students on 20^th & 21^st March 2023. Its objective was to develop in the students a spiriting spirit, a venue to display physical enhancement and gain hands on experience of organising a sports day at a school in future.

The students were divided into four groups with exciting and energetic names for each group: Sapphire, Ruby, Topaz and Emerald. Each group represented with a colour of blue, red, white, and Green respectively with flags and placards.

The sports meet had both indoor and outdoor games and track events. The indoor games include badminton, chess, and carrom board conducted two weeks before the track events. For outdoor games, the first years made the necessary arrangements a day before, by cleaning the ground, marked the tracks and all required things for the sports meet with the help of Ramesh sir, our Physical Trainer and student sports secretary Sivaprasad M.

The sports meet was started on 20^th Monday at 2.00 p.m. at our college ground, where the students assembled in time. The event was started with Shot Put and Long Jump, which ended at 4 pm. In the next day we started the event at 8.00 am with 100 metre races, which was followed by an inaugural session begins with a march past parade at 9 am.

    The inauguration ceremony started at 9.15 am with flag hoisting by the chief guest Sri. Arjun Balakrishnan, Santhosh Trophy Kerala player. This was followed by welcome speech by our college union chairperson Amrutha Maria and our principal N. K Arjunan sir gave the presidential address. The inaugural address by the Chief guest, his words of wisdom from his own personal life were inspiring and specifying the importance of physical health and sports activities which help in maintaining a good mental health too and it set the tone for the day. Praseetha v., the vice principal, gave the felicitation. Ramesh sir declared the sports day open, he called the team captains of each group for taking the oath, and Sivaprasad M. recited the oath to all. Muhammed Adhanan P delivered the vote of thanks.

The next sports items started at 10 am with event items of 100 m, 200 m, 400 m race, relay, discus throw, walking for both the batches respectively. Maximum participation was compulsory for any three events. All the events finished off the most energetic and cheered with happiness.

Credible participation in games and sports report

            Sports day is an event with colours and beautiful moments of excitement. Sports have an unavoidable role in shaping a fit and healthy body. A teacher trainee should need experience in conducting sports meet, hence I actively participated in the sports meet. I participated in games of Chess, 400 m race, shot put and disc throw.

Prize: I got only second prize in 400 m race. However, it was an exciting day for me, my mind is filled with lots of nostalgic memories of the event and an educational day for me. It highlighted the importance of the sports and paved a sporting spirit in me as a future teacher.

Reflection 

Participating in the sports meet was an exhilarating experience that allowed me to explore my athletic abilities and challenge myself in various disciplines. Engaging in chess, shot put, disc throw, and the 400m race gave me a well-rounded exposure to different sports and tested my skills in both mental strategy and physical strength. While I did not secure any prizes in chess, shot put, or disc throw, I am immensely proud of my performance in the 400m race, where I managed to clinch the second prize. This accomplishment fills me with a sense of achievement and validates the hard work and dedication I invested in my training. The sports meet served as a reminder that success comes in various forms, and even though I didn't excel in all the events, my perseverance and determination paid off in the race. This experience has motivated me to continue pursuing my passion for sports, pushing myself to improve in each discipline and embracing the valuable lessons that sports teach us about resilience, teamwork, and personal growth.

Rules and Regulations of Volleyball and Shuttle Badminton

Volleyball

Volleyball is a popular team sport played around the world. It was invented in 1895 by William G. Morgan, a YMCA physical education director in Holyoke, Massachusetts, USA. The game is played with two teams, each consisting of six players, on a court divided by a net. The objective of the game is to send the ball over the net and to ground it on the opponent's court, and to prevent the same effort by the opponent.

The game is characterized by its fast pace, quick reflexes, and team coordination. Volleyball requires a combination of physical and mental skills, including strength, agility, endurance, speed, accuracy, and strategy.

There are several variations of volleyball, including indoor volleyball, beach volleyball, sitting volleyball for people with disabilities, and grass volleyball. Volleyball is also an Olympic sport, and it is played at both the amateur and professional levels.

Dimensions of the Court:

The volleyball court is rectangular in shape, with a length of 18 meters and a width of 9 meters. The court is divided into two halves by a net that is 2.43 meters high for men and 2.24 meters high for women. The net is placed in the centre of the court, with equal amounts of court on each side. There is also a centreline that divides the court into two equal halves. 

The court is further divided into three sections: the front row, the back row, and the serving area. The front row is the area closest to the net, and the back row is the area furthest from the net. The serving area is a rectangular box located behind the end line.

Basic Rules and Regulations:

Serve: The game begins with a serve, which is executed by a player from behind the end line of their court. The ball must be hit over the net and into the opponent's court, and the player must not step on or over the end line until after the ball is served.

Rally: After the serve, the game enters into a rally. The ball is played back and forth between the two teams, with each team allowed up to three touches to get the ball over the net.

Scoring: In volleyball, points are awarded to a team when they successfully win a rally by either winning the rally itself or the other team making a fault. The first team to reach 25 points and have a two-point lead over their opponent wins the set. In some cases, a match may be played as the best of five sets, and the fifth set may be played up to 15 points with a two-point lead required to win.

Rotation: Volleyball has a rotation system in which players rotate positions on the court after each side out. The player who served the ball in the previous rally rotates to the back row, and the other players move to the next position.

Faults: There are several types of faults in volleyball, including touching the net, crossing the centreline, carrying the ball, and committing a foot fault. If a fault occurs, the opposing team is awarded a point.

Fouls of volleyball:

Don't touch the net: When the ball is in play, players should not touch the net. If a player makes contact with the net during play, the other team gets a point and the serve.

Don't carry the ball: In volleyball, the ball should be hit, not carried or held. Players should not let the ball come to rest in their hands or arms.

Don't step over the center line: During play, players should not step over the center line on the court. This line marks the boundary between the two halves of the court and crossing it is considered a violation.

Don't commit a foot fault: When serving, the player's foot must not touch or go over the end line or side-line before contact with the ball. This is called a foot fault and results in the serve being called out.

Don't touch the ball more than three times: In most cases, a team is allowed to touch the ball a maximum of three times before it must be sent over the net. If a team touches the ball more than three times, the other team gets a point.

Don't hit the ball out of bounds: If the ball lands outside the boundary lines, it is considered out of bounds and the other team gets a point.

The Ball

Size: Volleyball balls are typically around 65-67 cm (25.6-26.4 inches) in circumference and weigh between 260-280 grams (9.2-9.9 ounces). The size and weight of the ball can vary slightly depending on the level of play and age group.

Material: Volleyball balls are typically made of synthetic leather or composite leather. These materials are durable and provide good grip, making them ideal for the sport.

Color: The standard color of a volleyball ball is usually a combination of white, yellow and blue, although some balls may be designed with different colors or patterns.

Panels: Volleyball balls typically have 18 panels that are sewn together. The panels are designed to create a consistent shape and balance for the ball.

Shuttle badminton

Badminton is a popular racquet sport played around the world.  It originated in India and was introduced to England in the 19th century, where it became a popular pastime. Shuttle badminton, also known as simply "badminton," is played with a shuttlecock, which is a feathered projectile that is hit back and forth over a net by two or four players.

The objective of the game is to hit the shuttlecock in such a way that the opponent is unable to return it over the net. Players score points when their opponent is unable to return the shuttlecock, or when their opponent hits the shuttlecock out of bounds. The game is typically played on a rectangular court with a net dividing the playing area.

Badminton requires a combination of physical and mental skills, including speed, agility, endurance, hand-eye coordination, and strategic thinking. The game can be played at both the amateur and professional levels, and it is also an Olympic sport.

There are several variations of badminton, including doubles and mixed doubles, where teams of two players compete against each other. There are also different styles of play, such as singles, doubles, and mixed doubles. Rules and regulations of shuttle badminton:

Court and Equipment: The game is played on a rectangular court, divided into two halves by a net. The court is 13.4m long and 6.1m wide for doubles and 13.4m long and 5.18m wide for singles. Players use rackets to hit a shuttlecock that weighs around 4.74 to 5.5 grams.

Scoring: A player or team scores a point when the shuttlecock lands on the opponent's court, and the opponent fails to hit it back over the net. The first player or team to reach 21 points with a two-point lead wins the game. In case of a 20-20 tie, the game continues until one player or team leads by two points.

Serving: The game starts with a serve, which is done from the right-hand service court. The server must hit the shuttlecock below the waist and diagonally to the opponent's service court. The serve must cross the net and land within the opponent's service court. If the server fails to do so, a point is awarded to the opponent.

Faults: A fault is any violation of the rules. Some of the common faults include hitting the shuttlecock outside the court boundaries, touching the net with the racket or body, and making contact with the shuttlecock twice. A fault results in a point for the opponent.

Lets: A let is called when the shuttlecock hits the net during the serve and lands within the opponent's court, or when there is any hindrance during the play. In case of a let, the point is replayed.

Doubles Play: In doubles play, each team has two players, and the players take turns serving and receiving. The players on the same team must take turns hitting the shuttlecock, and the shuttlecock must cross the net before being hit by the opponent.
